The general qualification covers skills and knowledge to obtain a broad range of skills in the water industry. It allows staff to apply operational and procedural practices under the appropriate level of supervision.

Certificate IV in Water Industry Operations

This is a qualification for those engaged in generalist water industry operations or specialisations in catchment and dams, hydrometric monitoring, irrigation water supply, networks, trade waste or treatment.
This qualification also covers the skills and knowledge for those who have supervisory responsibility and require a broad range of skills within operations.

Monitor and operate hypochlorite disinfection processes

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to monitor and operate hypochlorite disinfection processes.

It includes monitoring hypochlorite disinfection systems and reporting on process quality control. It also includes working safely with, transporting and storing sodium hypochlorite solution or calcium hypochlorite solids and implementing emergency response procedures.

Sodium hypochlorite awareness

According to Australian Standard AS3780:2008 The storage and handling of corrosive substances; all personnel handling corrosive substances must be able to identify the substance and it’s properties and apply safety regulations and safe handling procedures.

This course is designed for personnel who work with sodium hypochlorite to understand the issues of storage and handling sodium hypochlorite, the health effects and treatment if exposed to sodium hypochlorite and what to do in an emergency.
The experience and background of the presenters ensures that the training is directly relevant to all participants.

According to Australian Standard AS 2927:2019 for the storage and handling of liquefied chlorine gas; training and instruction shall be provided to all workers directly involved in the storage or handling of chlorine containers, or the operation or maintenance of chlorine installations.

For those who do not need a nationally recognised qualification, TRILITY offers the Monitor and operate liquefied chlorine gas disinfection course without the pre and post requisite requirements.

The course is designed for operators with a specific responsibility for disconnecting and connecting liquefied chlorine gas containers. The course covers the skills required to monitor and operate liquefied chlorine gas disinfection systems and report on process quality control, whilst working safely.
